New Core i7 Build

I understand the idea of the bottom-mounted PSU, it just doesn’t look right to me yet. Though as Greeny mentioned, my first computer was horizontal with the monitor sitting on top, and it took me awhile to get used to vertical standing cases.

Though, now that you mention it, why is it better that the mobo, CPU, and RAM sit at the top and get all of the heat rather than the PSU? I’d think the cheaper part would be better able to withstand the heat.

The heat buildup is still there though right? Just closer to the CPU/RAM than the PSU when their positions are switched.

Heat rises, so if you have a top mounted PSU it can result in a build up of heat around the PSU. If you have nothing on the top of the case, you can have all heat generated just exhaust out of the top.

a good exhaust fan eliminates any heat buildup around the cpu area, my heatsink is blowing air to the standard 120mm rear exhaust and I literally get 30c temp air blowing out of my top 140mm fan

Looks wonderful inside.
