MultiMC will also have all previous builds to use (which is a great tool to manage instances btw), and the new launcher will have them all soon enough.

The new launcher allows usage of the oldest ever versions of minecraft(alpha in 2010) up to now, as well as automatically using new snapshots.
Yes… I realize this. What I am saying is here are old .jar’s you can add to the launcher.
Going to go ahead and unstick this. All jars can now be retrieved via the launcher and/or assets.minecraft.net
I would like to see alpha in here too 
Read the post above, everything dating back to alpha (and pre-alpha afaik) can now be retrieved via the official minecraft launcher.
