The top 4 (excluding the tie) were voted again by me and silent cj

Mostly because the tie was not present when I pmed cj lol

And I realized it was turning into a popularity contest. Telling everyone and all your friends to vote for you vs voting on quality.

I didn’t pick it alone. CJ has tons of graphics experience and I asked him which one he liked, and he said uncalled. And I was thinking the same thing.

So overall yes…?

This was a compromise. Taharok messaged me not 30 minutes after voting began and he suggested I pick judges because public voting isn’t going to work very well on a forum like moparscape. But I don’t want to pick it completely alone. So the community nominates the top 3-4 vote values (includes ties) and then I pm around to users who I’ve noticed have a good grasp on graphics and ask them.

asshole_rule would be the runner up, and then Rash. Uncalleds felt more balanced while asshole’s was a bit ‘off’ with those bright lights but still really cool.

Really confuses me.

Uncalled compo is really off, his has relatively no depth. His focal is too hidden amongst all of those effect. The smudging in the bg has really a major negative effect, and brings the quality of the piece down. Lighting is non-existant.

That’s just a quick glance.

No offence to anyone, especially you or cj.
But to really judge tags, you have to make them.

You Uncalled and A_R would be the judges, and then it isn’t really a competition because we wouldn’t have enough people fighting on the same level.

The new competition is much better because you can really see who complimented/insulted the render. So hopefully having a new render every time will cut out the people trying to submit old stuff and also make choosing a winner easier.

And this is why there will be a few months wait before SOTW comes. Hopefully the section will be more active by then and we can have a real competition

This SOTW is supposed to be a copy of MITB’s SOTW, which didn’t have a poll, just a judge (From the threads I saw)

I thought it was only a mod vote on ties. That is pretty stupid that they picked the winner when KroniKz_ should have won. He had more votes by far.

There really is no point in anyone voting if you guys are just going to pick the winner. Stupid system and I’m happy to see my vote was completely worthless.
