27-inch 2560x1440 IPS panels for < $400? Yes!

I am really really really REALLY interested in picking one of these babes up on ebay. Be sure to read the FAQ on overclock, apparently they are actually quite good, for some usages better (!) than Dell and Apple. One of these usages is Gaming. Since the monitors doesn’t have OSD or Overclocking etc, and the signal goes straight to the panel without alterations (you have to configure your gfx card to get the expected results), the input lag is minimal, which means it is viable for gaming.

So let’s discuss this marvel of the modern world.

Damn dude this is a great find, thanks for posting. I just ordered two 21.5" Dell IPS Panels 1920x1080 before spring semester at college and I love them:

But for a 2560x1440 this is a great deal and I might pick one of these up for work at the beginning of summer when I move from part-time to full-time.

looks good. Except isn’t 27" a little big?

I have a 22" (running 1920x1080) and its quite big for a monitor…

Looks nice, wish I had 4

Not at 2560x1440

How/why does one OC a monitor?

refresh rate

just wear reading glasses with a 1600x900 screen and boom 40 inch tv

I assume that’d really fuck your eyes up

i stick loyal to my 1080p 120hz monitor

3d is nice when i’m pretty bored too

Assuming the amount of light being condensed into your eyes doesn’t screw them up

reading in a bright light causing permanent damage/loss of sight is a misconception, additionally, using a computer screen for a long time without looking away causing permanent damage/loss of sight is a misconception

eye strain is exactly what it says on the tin, strain of the eye muscles, nothing more
