3ds Max, vray, lights, and glass materials

Using 3ds max 2011, vray 1.50.SP4.
Basically, vray lights or any other kind of lights do not shine whatsoever through my glass material.

All the bulbs have vray lights inside, but no worky :frowning:
Hereā€™s the same vray light placed outside of the bulb and slightly away from the wall.

So it works fine there.

Hereā€™s the glass material settings applied to the glass bit of the bulb, wonā€™t bother with light settings as I donā€™t think they are relevant, as I have tried many different lights and combinations of light settings.

The geometry on the glass bit is single sided with the material mapped onto the correct side.

Need any other info just ask.
Any ideas? Kinda annoying me, wanna get this shizz finished.
Cheers.

Light link.

Use spotlights for the lights. Unlink them from the spotlight mesh and link them to everything else.

Oh I see, but surely thatā€™d stop light from bouncing around inside of the light bulb (object)? And because Iā€™ve tessellated and applied a reflective material inside it, itā€™s meant to simulate a real light.

Edit: actually, I could detach the glass mesh from the rest of the bulb, that should work, right?

Why have the light bouncing around inside of the bulb? Thatā€™s a waste of rendertime and itā€™s obviously not working right now.
