A place on this forum for noobs?

Hi forum!
I would like to suggest that there should be a place on this forum where people can upload sources and general talk, for noobs. You see, I have been on this forum for a couple a days, and a lot of times, I find it hard to understand everything that you guys are talking about. I really want to learn what there is to learn, but it can be hard sometimes

Basicly, what I want to suggest is a place on this forum where we talk “noob-friendly” That involves showing off “noob-friendly sources”, or adding “noob-friendly files” such as a .bat file for run server or run client, also learning noobs how to compile different files including getting help to play sources that we don’t know how to run or operate etc.

I personally think this would be to much help for those who want to learn how to play the sources and in general Java! Finding toturials on forums or internett can be very confusing when you don’t know what you should be learning or don’t know what you will be needing to be able to play / edit the games. Maybe this can all resort to more people wanting to try out Java and Runescape private server development

Thanks for feedback

That sort of environment just encourages people to remain as noobs. I think baptism by fire (or drowning in the deep end if you’re just not cut out for it) is the only way to go.

Burn it to the ground then build it up, bigger, better, stronger, harder, donger.

moparscape is a pretty noob friendly place and if you ever really needed to post a bat simply copy source and paste

I’m your tutorial island, minion.

Everything anywhere should be “noob friendly”. If not then the questions you’re asking are too complex and you need to take a step back. Obviously some people are just bad at explaining things and release overly complicated tools, but we can’t do anything about that.

There’s no such thing as the release of an ‘overly complicated’ tool in this community. Such tools take years to develop (think nmap, although I wouldn’t necessarily consider it overly complicated).

Much more likely:

  1. The author wrote poor documentation to accompany it.
  2. The user (people such as the OP) didn’t read the accompanying documentation.

If you ever need noob advice, feel free to PM me  Click here!

I’m not talking about enterprise scale IT systems… You know, the stuff that’s a royal pain for anyone to run because it doesn’t have clear design and isn’t user friendly.

So a place for noobs to talk. Lets see, you have server and client help, the tutorial section, the general server section, general discussion… So most of this forum is open for you to chat.

yeah if you have any general server/protocol questions just post in the section I linked above and we can discuss it as a community and grow in knowledge together

you can even pm some of us although the java gurus/staff probably won’t reply because they probably have better things to do with their time (most of them are older anyway)

Horrible post Jmood. Do you truly believe any of those places are helpful at all?

what? how are they not helpful? as long as your question isn’t retarded most of us are glad to help out newbies

I don’t think we need to support an environment for new people. The problem is the people that are usually considered as ‘noobs’ are either immature/inexperienced, or just possess no willpower to attempt to grasp an understanding of the given concept.

which is the only time any members including myself will troll and not be helpful

are u fucking serious

Personally, the main thing that deters me from posting is, I can literally spoon feed someone and they will still not understand. It feels pointless at times. We need to somehow encourage people to actually learn Java rather than ask for help on everything.
