Allow wiki to accept Markdown format

It’d make writing wiki articles easier.

Edit: When you guys upgraded the forums/merged forums you forgot to fix the wiki. God damn it Tom.

How do you propose we allow the wiki to accept such a format? Is there a plugin or something?

I will look for one but it was just an idea I hadn’t done an prior research.

Not a plugin but still pretty simple to use.

Im fairly sure he knows what markdown is but I dont think he or Tom wants to write a plugin just to handle writing in the markdown format

I’m well aware of markdown, it’s great and easy to use. And if you were going to hack support into mediawiki yourself, you’d use something like this:

Not the original which was written in perl.

Anyhow, I don’t have the time to hack in support, so I was looking for a plugin. I’ll have a look at Jmood’s links and look into upgrading mediawiki and putting it into a public github repo you guys can edit just like the forum.

Cool! It’ll make writing articles easier. Maybe we can also reskin the wiki so that it fits the look of the blog. That’s a lot to ask of though for being such a minor thing, if I knew how I would definitely help out.

Does anyone have anything against moving the wiki URL? Maybe http://www.moparisthebest.com/wiki/ or http://www.moparisthebest.com/rswiki/ ? Thoughts?

/rswiki/ would suit it better. /wiki/ makes me think it’s a wikia about moparscape, when it is not.
