Their image was fine clear read and simple, you added effects that weren’t needed and made it look bad , I mean it looks like a 4 year old got ahold of a sharpie and started trying to trace

Looks like you hit it with a stronger drop shadow, outer glow, emboss, and possibly a satin finish. All simple Photoshop overlays…
