Christmas GIF [GIMP]

Hey guys, I made this GIF based off of advice from fellow Moparians  Thank you for everyone who gave ideas. I think this turned out great. I know I should be posting this on the original thread, but I wanted to make a new one because I spent quite a bit of work into this. Tell me what you think and how I can improve!

Perhaps make the snow slower and more detailed, and make it go behind everything else as to be some sort of backdrop. There is definitely improvement though.

I mean I suppose it’s not that bad but as Flame said, make the snow slower and let it have more detail.

I tried to make it a bit slower (100ms) but it seems chopppy. Any ideas on how i can make it slower, and less choppy?

Use various different snowflakes at different sizes move at different speeds in the back of everything else, like a backdrop.

should probably remove the blackhole of a mouth for santa.

:stuck_out_tongue: he’s supposed to be saying “Ho Ho Ho”.

Too much snow. At least in front of everything. If you wanted to make it look like it’s snowing a lot, then make the majority of it behind all the renders and text, then apply a smaller amount above everything else. It takes focus off the main focal from the graphic. The snow is also quite sloppy, could’ve been done better. It’s also a bit choppy, the animation of the snow could have been much smoother than that. It honestly just looks like two or three different layers being cycled through of different ‘snow effects’ that just make it look as if it’s moving, but not really. The snow on the ground is also very block-like and not just a pile of snow. The santa hat on the ‘c’ of ‘Christmas’ most certainly does not look like it’s actually on the c. It looks like it’s just floating there, and not being worn by the letter. The ‘From’ text should be a bit smaller. The santa render, especially with the white border, looks like it was cut very sloppily.

Other than that, looks decent.

Thanks for the great feedback man. The reason the snow is the top layer is because it doesnt show up on the white background, and the snow is choppy is because the only way it would look legit is to be moving at decent speeds. Its actually 15 layers, just moving .75ms per frame. Thanks for thr feedback!

My eyes hurt lol. Snow should be slower and with different sizes. Other than that it looks great!

Very nice work!

Thanks!

Also, the snow is hard as hell to see on the background in general. You should possibly add some form of a colored background.
Maybe look into adding some form of a “sky” behind it all?
It’s good work though.
The snow is a bit too fast, but I’ve seen worse (irl XD)

A grayish sky would look nice. Thanks for the feedback!

Not bad ;D
