Do not buy a google chromebook/chromebox

I made the mistake of buying a Google Chromebox. I played around with it, had some fun, but then I realized that I never used it after three weeks of owning it. The purpose in making the purchase was to see if Google Chrome OS was right for me, but it wasn’t. All it is is Google Chrome with some added settings to manage some operating system level hardware, like WiFi, display, etc. If you want to try out Google Chrome OS, just download Google Chrome…

I actually tried chrome os by booting it off of a usb drive on my laptop.

google doesn’t offer the OS for non-chromebooks?

I got gum in my gpu and I was thinkn of getting 1 of these

how the hell did you do that?

I wouldn’t buy one, but I guess some people actually like the thing. Just because you didn’t find a use for it, doesn’t mean nobody should buy one.

The point still stands, ChromiumOS != ChromeOS. It lacks a lot of functionality that ChromeOS actually has.
