my shitty laptop has a bios upgrade that I want to install as it allows a big increase in fan speed but everytime I try to run the upgrade it screams at me that my battery level is below 10% (which is true the battery is shot but I have the ac adapter plugged in at all times and want to risk potentially bricking the device) and yes it literally screams as the installer utilizes the system speaker to produce a horrid beeping noise. anyone know of a program or trick to fake the battery level so I can get the bios to install?

yes but you need to upgrade the bios to do so

really don’t want to pay for something I never use. I have never once found myself in a situation where i didn’t have a plug nearby.
