How to do gloss buttons

So this might seem like an odd thing to ask. But i just need a simple tutorial or explanation on how to make a glossy button or background. What I mean is something like this:

And making the hover would be nice too

I’m not asking for someone to make them, I want to make them myself. I just don’t know how

Edit:
How do these look:

Hover:

Yes i did make em.

The top one looks like two solids, bottom one black and the top a tiny bit off black with a feathered solid over it the same color as the top solid, but with low opacity

Bottom looks the same but with a blue feathered solid near the bottom

You, my friend, are no help what so ever. I asked for a “How To” on how to make these. Then I decided to have a crack at it, and posted my results. Don’t just tell me what I did wrong. Give me some tips on how to fix it.

Follow a userbar tutorial, they show how to make the gloss pretty well

I gave you a breakdown of what I thought the image was, using key words that when followed would produce (roughly) the example image I provided, does the lack of numbered steps not qualify that as a “How To”?

Follow Frells advice and Google it

I actually did google it. The attempt was after googling and reading a few tutorials. I found how they made the glow, using a shape then applying a Gaussian blur. And maybe a Motion Blur if the image you edited isn’t wide enough.
I think my issue was that I didn’t select 2 close enough colors.

It’s fine.

There’s a couple more. I changed the glow and the top color is a darker shade
