Knife

frell told me about a tutorial on this and i decided to post my results

another view with a different grip

Is it suppose to look like plastic or metal?

I had to blink to see if the first image was real or not.

I think it looks very realistic.

if you were running c4d r11 I could help you alot with render settings and materials

Does look a little fake, but overall, is amazing.

running r12, but im limited on detail because its running on a vista home premium from like 2007

lol that doesn’t mean youre limited on detail.

When I first started c4d I waited 8+ hours for rooms to render

i used to wait one hour for stills to render, and often i would have to redo them if they weren’t right

i dont want to wait 4+ hours for a render im not pleased with

thats why you use render region to check small patches of your materials before rendering the entire thing

the what

theres a button above the viewport next to the nurbs and crap where you can drag select an area to render only

holy shit

If you switch back to r11 (exact same as 12 without some mograph updates) ill help you alot on your materals brah

Im too lazy to get r13/r14, so im probably not going to get r11 just for materials

if i put more work into my materials i can get some pretty nice looking ones, but so far the last three or so topics ive posted have been when i was extremely tired from working on the actual model for a few hours, late at night.

the only reason I switched from r10 to r11 was because they updated the renderer, cba to get any other version because I don’t care
