MineScape (porting RuneScape maps to MineCraft)

Anyone know if it is possible?
Difficulty Estimation?
Where would I find the map files for RS?

anything else?

lol its impossible unless you create the map on minecraft.

runescape maps and minecraft maps are so different in format

It was possible to create the Earth as a world map through a series of programs and research. However, I think it would be harder than that to create.

I know that, but both runescape and minecraft have tiles, and they both sort of have heights,
I was thinking it might be possible to create a program that transfers them

rs walls are on the side of a block like our doors
so it will all be bigger

It’d be quite simple to create a mod that make walls that are as thin as doors

It would of course be possible to write a program to do this, it would be rather neat to do too.

Okay, if it’s possible

Anyone know how the runescape Maps are saved?

Although the idea of this would be funny to see, I hardly see how nice it would be in the aftermath, as RS is full of players and NPC. While, thi, is fill of blocks and yourself (unless on multiplayer, then you got other players). Seems like the map would get rather bland after a wile.

Couldn’t he do this then port the maps over to a SMP server? That would be pretty nice.

Single and Multiplayer maps have no real difference, aside from Multiplayer needing multiple player-saves. Other than this, you can take your single player map and load it on Multiplayer. Or at least, it worked back before MPSC actually got popular with Minecraft (was still in alpha when I tested that).

Yeah, its possible to port maps…
just copy&paste the map into the folder?..

If you guys want, I can you give a map of runescape that I put on minecraft. All you need to do is build up.

I’ve gone ahead and removed any post not pertaining to the topic. Stick to the subject in the future.

Wow - this idea would be just ePic!

Imagine playing in a map that you basically know what’s to your right and what’s to your left.

Challenge accepted
