My bedroom (unfinished)

yo read this first
still unfinished, im just posting pictures as i progress through it

Update 1:

Update 2:

Update 3:

still working on the lighting and adding more objects in the room. my room is pretty bland as it is so there wont be much to add besides a few wall decorations, an attic ceiling panel, a vent, trim around the bottom of the wall, a bed, and a few other miscellaneous features

This is
interesting o.O

cant wait to see end product

Desk looks too small in comparison to the rest of the room.

besides that, it’s pretty cool so far.

Update 1: added bed, slightly better lighting, a poster, and a slant to the ceiling.
Update 2: Changed the carpet texture, changed the skybox texture, shortened the desk (when a scaled humanoid model was shown next to it, it was taller than it should have been), removed the volumetric light (for now), added more posters, adjusted the lighting slightly
Not shown: Dresser and bookshelf.

So dark. Needs light.

Carpet texture needs work, lighting is OK, but could use tweaking. What program is this made in? if Maya, I would suggest using mia_material_x. Monitor should have some light coming off the screen, area light would work. Light fixture needed as well, but I’m sure you’re getting around to it. You might need to rethink some proportions, the bed looks huge, especially when sized with the desk… maybe its just the desk is too small. Nice start, lets see how it progresses.

This was done in Cinema 4D, and for the carpet texture i just took a photograph of my carpet, threw it into photoshop, and made it seamless. i tweaked it this morning, so it should look a little better in the next picture.

As for the proportions, I checked them with the “figure” primitive, which is a very basic humanoid structure

, and compared to my bed and desk it matched up pretty well. My desk is incredibly small and my bed is queen sized, so that may make the proportions seem off.

Update 3:

[ul][li]Changed the carpet texture (again)[/li]
[li]Added a chair[/li]
[li]Added an attic door[/li]
[li]Edited lighting (again)[/li]
[li]Slightly brighter through post-processing[/li]
[li]The room was too wide, so I narrowed it a little bit[/li]
[li]Wall outlets[/li]
[li]Changed the indents on the door[/li][/ul]

Yeah something about the proportions doesn’t seem right, for my scene I measured every object to the nearest millimetre and modelled to that… just sayin :stuck_out_tongue:

I changed the picture for update 3 so the proportions should look a little nicer now.
