My First Few GFX's

hey so i made these off photoshop for ReaperXScape Allstar.
please rate me /10 of how im doing!

sorry, its better without the black background :S

The slogans are a bit immature from my end.
The three ‘userbars’ I guess you could call them, the logo isn’t aligned in the center properly, or the grey circle/square (varies between each one) isn’t.
For the circle, again the slogan throws me off. The ‘S’ and ‘R’ are cut off, and the ‘S’ seems to far apart from the ‘X’ considering the ‘X’ is attached to the ‘R.’ You’re applying lighting to the exterior but not the interior.
For the final graphic, I’d recommend removing all of the repetitive slogans and placing one somewhere that you see fit.
Good job, hopefully you’ll create more advanced graphics in the future.

There’s waaaaay too much beveling going on. Not everything has to be 3D. A lot of things look better with just a simple gradient and a flat, simple look. Bevel can work, but when every aspect of your userbar is beveled it makes it look very amateur.

Well im gonna do more tonight, thanks for reply! Btw im no very good at centering things lol :s but i think i can become a good gfx artist someday! Ill post more after school, so please look later today and give me more feedback, btw the last one was just a test to see what i could do :d

Looks like barf, text looks emo/gay, too much green/crappy shade, pretty plain, could do better in paint.

google emo text, some of the stuff resembles to it.

Go fuck yourself

If you’re going to handle criticism by saying “fuck you” to anyone who says something negative about your work, you don’t need to post here.

lol… he could try to say some ideas to help me out, and im just starting so calling my work “gay” doesnt really help…

Well, they aren’t the best. You could try to use a better looking font and i personally think u used a bit too much of the color green, http://prntscr.com/19a6e7 that part doesn’t look mature at all, or even professional.

yeah i regret adding that text in there, i just wanted my slogan in there :S

I would say this is “okay” for a newbie(like myself haha) a suggestion somebody gave me a while back though is to actually draw out what we want first and go from there.

It could be better. Try making the canvas size on a larger scale, and the text not take up so much room. I don’t like the borders on the first couple that you have up there. There’s no depth with them, and they do not flow together really at all. You could try to handle the lighting better, get more precision in your depth, get a focal point (as you don’t even have one). Also, the font is killer, and doesn’t look good. If you want to use crazy font like that, you have to have a scene where it fits in. This bland-style theme you’ve got going does not look good with your font. You should also remove the glow effect from your font completely, unless you reconstruct your design. Overall, they kind of look immature in a way. And for the last one, you should make the green more visible and not use the same picture three times in a row. Get a soft edged brush and have the images flow together, then fill it up better with some effects. It’s a good start though, and could get you going in Photoshop.

If you really want to get going fast, I suggest that you take a look at videos and figure out how to do some cool stuff in Photoshop. After you’ve done this and that and gotten the basics of it down, you’ll start to improvise and catch on fairly quickly. Read and watch tutorials, Google how to do certain things, and eventually you’ll just start whipping up your own stuff very soon.

A suggestion to an overall design: You should make the height bigger, and get a render of some sort. Give us something to look at and not just some text that’s floating around. Add effects to the render, get your focal point, get your depth, do this and that. Make it look neat and well designed. If you are to use a render, I suggest that you do not center it, and have it slightly off to one side or the other. Well, that pretty much sums it all up. I hope to see you progress in GFX and can’t wait to see future graphics of yours.
