Another quote related suggestion I know, but on another forum where I’m a regular (vbulletin based iirc), when you quote a post it only quotes that post, rather than any nested quotes in said post.
This would be great as again, would reduce page length and unnecessary text, and would also prevent the dreaded quote pyramid…
Imo it should nest once. That way people can see the context of what the post you are replying to is as well.
Yes that sounds perfect, must admit there are times when I’ve had to scroll back to just the previous post, but usually you wouldn’t need to go any further.
Alternatively, you could just have quotes automatically be hidden after a certain number of quotes is reached and only show the most recent one.

That sounds like the best of both solutions, good thinking 
Tried to find an appropriate SMF mod but can’t see anything unfortunately…
