Giving people badges based around that would mean a person could have a shit load of badges.
Not really a problem, though, is it? I don’t know one person deserving of all of them.
Also @Anthony yeah I agree, JS Developer sounds better lol

Web designing is personal thing. I could hate everything you’ve ever designed but other people may love it. It’s still the quality of your code at the end of the day.
PHP developer, the only person I can think that would want that badge is The Web Guy.
Ruby shouldn’t even be related to web development.
But if you guys don’t mind seeing somebody with a ton of badges then whatever lol.

I don’t see what the problem is with having alot of badges if the person actually deserves them. Ruby isn’t fully related to web development (it kinda just got brought up in this topic) but there is a topic made by sinisoul to have one so you can read about the discussions on that over there.

I think that’s how it might look? lmao
Yea but that’s an extreme case… Only a very select few have that many badges. Users like Taharok, yakman, frank_, etc. Just because we are adding more doesn’t mean that someone is getting them all.
I’ve always wanted to try another award system, we could have a lot more awards if they were smaller and more contained. I think there was another topic that touched on the idea.
Yes, even if it was a simple 3 x N table in the postbit with just the badge icons and a tooltip which states the badge name. That will allow three badges to be displayed for every one badge we have currently.
I forked the mopar repo a while ago so I might be tempted to get around to it but only if its a modification of the current one. Unfortunately I don’t have time to rewrite a whole new one.
I like it the way it is, look at Taharok and lawl etc with all their awards, it doesn’t look bad. Ashi, you seem to start an argument on every topic, just stop.
Went ahead and made the ones that people seemed to agree on for the most part, if there’s any further requests let me know
As proof that it doesn’t look hideous - Remember that no one will ever receive all of them at once (I got my current award for PHP and web design and have access to the veteran board, don’t think I’m blowing my own trumpet :P):
But then what’s the point in having them if you can’t flaunt your achievements. The badge system is an incentive for a lot of people, that incentive will surely leave after they can’t flaunt their award on their postbit anymore.
