Photoshop help!

Okay guys I have been trying to create a photoshop image with a transparent background so I can place the text in-game. But whenever I choose ‘transparent’ when I click on File>New. This is what happens:

But look at this, these are transparent(I didn’t make them):

Could somebody please help me?

Wrong section. There is a section specifically for help.
