Pink/red artifacting on FIRST boot?

When I first boot up my computer (after the case change in my other thread) the first graphic intensive thing I do will almost always get artifacts and freeze my computer up forcing me to use the reset button.

Examples:
Youtube froze and related videos flickered pink color in the background and my tabs looked like pink spraypaint was on them in 16bit color mode.
Started world of warcraft and got uniformly spaced red spraypaint marks (EXACTLY like the spray can in paint) and the computer froze.

Both times I started it up with the power button, and once it froze both times I used the reset button. After I used the reset button it does not occur until the next time I turn on the computer with the power button.

I re downloading my gfx drivers, checked cpu temps and gpu temps which are ~15c cooler than my old case so it can’t be that

What does this sound like? Im starting to think my pw switch wire is on the wrong two pins on my motherboard, seeing as how when I use the reset button it doesnt happen again?

Worse case scenario ill use my warranty on my 560ti, but was curious if anyone else knows.

sounds like the connection between your graphics card and mobo has some issues, try blowing the dust of the connector and checking how good it is secured into the socket

Revert back to an older driver version, try the cd that came with the card. People are having issues with this card and the newer drivers. It wouldn’t be the power switch wire it doesn’t matter which wire is plugged into either two pins.

Do you think the coincidental act of me accidentally touching the gold pins on the card while switching cases has anything to do with it?

No, that should be perfectly fine.

Well I took the gfx card and and wiped the gold prongs with a microfiber cloth and properly reseated it and I havent had any problems yet

I’m sure the reseating has far more to do with it than the wiping.

Could be power related but honestly I’d just warranty it.

Many people are having this same issue, its the driver :S

Yup, exact same thing

Hey I am also using GTX 560 Ti. When watching Youtube in full screen the monitor goes distorted pink colour and the computer froze but the sound is doing fine. Saw a post from Nvidia stating that they are dealing with the issue from this post below.

Officially acknowledged by nvidia also

I know I saw your post lol and thats what made me not warrantyit
