Set up current worlds for download (like the older ones)
Set up a whitelist for the current bukkit server (I’ve been pushing for this for a long time, why does FTB get it but not bukkit?)
New world. If we’re gonna have bukkit, the only real plugin we need is chest protection but with whitelist that won’t be necessary (in most cases)
Re-add my MoparCraft staff title since I’m apparently still a mod on the bukkit server :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re a community that likes working together but once we’ve built everything near the spawn, sometimes we just want to start fresh.

Oh and I’m back guys. Prepare for some awesome builds.

I support a new world to the fullest, I also think that if we do get a new world we should push to keep it on the latest version of Minecraft, which means either using beta builds of Bukkit or using Mojangs server base. The biggest reason we lost players around a month or so after “world 3” was first released is because we always took ages to update, which could have been avoided. I see tons of big servers using beta builds of bukkit with no problems at all yet we don’t use them? If updating as quickly as possible means we have to stop using so many plugins then so be it, if we have to add a whitelist so that we can get rid of certain plugins then do it. For those that are worried about people stealing stuff, take a look at FTB, we use a whitelist for that and don’t have any chest protection and haven’t had any issues with people stealing.

whitelists are great because it supports both hacked and legitimate clients, I don’t see why they’re bad. Unless you want to explain otherwise?

whitelists are great because it supports both hacked and legitimate clients, I don’t see why they’re bad. Unless you want to explain otherwise?

There’s a reason why there are more than one staff member for MoparCraft. They (not me since I’m not officially a staff member) need to go over each candidate. I don’t think Tom would risk abusing his power for a single user (or even a few who have gotten on his bad side).

He’s not risking anything, he runs shit on moparcraft, who’s going to do anything to him?

He’s not really abusing… he just has too much of a say in things. Whatever Tom says goes and that’s final.

i kinda agree with tom, you are a bit of a prick. but thats just me.
i support a new map, ONLY if we have the current one for download. i love my tree house mansion, and if i get the download, i can do more with it by changing it to creeative mode with my mods. I suppose a whitelist would be fine, but if we could, i’d rather have some plugin to protect my chests. as much as i do my best to be allies with people on here, a clash with someone will always happen, and i’d rather not lose my stuff over that. im more of a builder than a fighter.

That’s what we have staff and the whitelist for, to protect other users from harassing our dedicated community. With those in place, you wouldn’t have to worry about having your items stolen.

EDIT: I’m willing to work with the community and Tom in order to fix this ball of distrust that has built up, but it requires the cooperation of all parties, otherwise we may as well not have a minecraft server at all.

This is the same proposal I put up many times, and here’s how the voting will go with a 10% margin of error:

People that are still building things currently will want to keep the current world
People that are bored with the current world will want to start fresh

As always, yeah.

That’s why I proposed the worlds go up for download and we start fresh.

But I’ve logged on a couple of times in the past few weeks and I guess its safe to say that rarely anyone logs in and that’s not good. It feels more like people have abandoned the server as a whole (except for FTB but I just got a good rig to play from)

You’re forgetting people who haven’t played in a long time but don’t want to start playing because of how old and abandoned the current map is.

I don’t play because I’m bored of the current map.

I do agree with this idea. Put all current maps up for download and open up a new one, but this time don’t make the map limited. Make the map completely open with no limitations (I know this has caused problems before, but maybe add a distance limit super far away from spawn, but not anywhere near like it is now). Also, make it so raiding is possible + PvP. The servers we now have now are too boring, everything is so bland. All you can do is build, and hostile interactions is discouraged. I hate that. I want to be able to go where ever I want and kill whoever I want, just like the beginning days of Moparcraft. Raiding is also a lot of fun (but I’m sure some of you will disagree). Allow people to have a limited number of locked chests, and have them expire after a certain amount of time of being unused to stop them from being all over the place without any way to remove them (6 months should be good).

If that were to happen, I’d be on every single day, but as of right now, I just cba to play because like I said, everything is too bland and boring.

P.S I am against the whitelist.

PVP is something I’ll always disagree with because I’ve always known the horrors of having fps drops during a fight. It just puts certain people at a disadvantage.

Although, I can look past it so long as it makes everyone happy. That’s what we really need right now.

I’m not a big fan of pvp on unless it’s a special circumstance or in a controlled place like an arena. I also dislike the idea of raiding, this is a community server so we don’t want someone hating on another person because someone stole their diamonds. The idea with the limited map is good but also bad at the same time because of new minecraft updates etc, we don’t want it to be really difficult to find new content when minecraft updates.
