So phone upgrade is coming

Well my phone upgrade is coming in the next few months and so far my eye is on the samsung galaxy nexus do you guys think its a good choice fill me with you wisdom and semen.

what network are you on?

Yes.

The Galaxy Nexus is the best Android phone available.

I’d wait for the MWC on Sunday at least, gonna be a mass of quad core phone announcements, LG already got their Optimus 4X quad core phone announced a couple of days ago, HTC definitely has one brewing, but I think Samsung are waiting for the summer to do an exclusive announcement for their beast (the Galaxy S3).

I know something new’s always coming out so there’s not much point in waiting, but in this case it’s probably worth it.

Unless they can do something about battery, a quad core phone will be impractical.

There have been some breakthroughs I was reading about on BBC, but it’s unlikely they’ll be available to consumers for another few years yet. :o
Even so, most smartphones, single core, dual core or quad core, have a battery life of less than three days, tends to be the large displays which drink the juice.

I own a nexus at the moment, had no problems so far and I think it is the best phone i have ever owned.

I say the galaxy s2 is the best out atm. i may be biased since i own one but my friend has the nexus galaxy and the only thing his phone has on mine is slightly larger screen, slightly faster processor, ics, and the fast camera. I’m sure ics will help my phone a little when it comes out. even though my camera is slower at taking pics the quality of pictures from my phone are worth it. he may be able to zoom in while recording video in 1080p but it doesnt look very good. even with cyanogenmod on his nexus my phone still had a score about 1000 points higher than his phone in a quadrant benchmark, and my phone is stock.

also the nexus galaxy has some built in feature that doesn’t allow it to get very bright. he had his phone at full brightness and so was mine his was like having mine on half brightness. his phone’s display displays white in every pixel but mine is checkered black and white which you don’t really notice unless you look really hard and know thats is what is happening. I believe it is do to the different display technologies but i like my display.

Yeah but the nexus screen has a great pixel density and proper, priority support from Google for ICS. I wouldn’t touch another Android device.

I’d definitely go as far as to say the new HTC One X is the best phone in the world right now, announced yesterday, featuring a nVidia Tegra 3 quad core processor @ 1.5ghz, 1GB RAM and a resolution of 1280x720.

Not only that but it’s solid and good looking.

Comes in black too.
Definitely wish I waited out on buying my Sensation XE 3 months ago.

Except with stupid Sense and shit update support.

Custom roms fix both of these. Besides, they’re not that bad? ICS official is coming for mine in a few days, despite already having it for almost 3 months, custom

Haha, sucks to be American! I can’t wait for some quad-core cdma phones, though. Hopefully native to my carrier.

Nobody buys a phone for the camera unless they are utterly retarded.

Could always give the LG Optimus 4X HD a look? I think it’s going to be released in U.S, not entirely sure, very similar specs.

I know megapixels != quality, but that could be impressive.

it won’t take 41mp images though, the max you’ll get out of it is 38 mp at 4:3 or 5mp in auto shots

and it’ll probably still be terrible

The Nokia N8 and the iPhone 4 have surprisingly good cameras, more than enough for the average joe that wants to take “decent” photos with their phone, totally comparable with dedicated compact point and shoot cameras. If you want to do proper photography, obviously get a DLSR, otherwise there’s nothing wrong with some high end phone cameras.

why would anyone want a quadcore in a mobile device…

Something I’m wondering about too. I guess the guy I was having a discussion with about Steve Jobs being the biggest name in the gaming industry can answer this too. I believe it was tL, but I’m not sure.
