Wiki for RSPS

Well, Graham and I have set upon ourselves the task of gathering and documenting all of the information we can about general RuneScape Private Servers and hacking of RuneScape and compiling it into one wiki, which should hopefully become the “go-to” place in the future for RSPS information.

I would like to know what you guys think of this idea, and whether or not you guys would help contribute to the project.
I’m certain it is worth our time and it will help out thousands throughout the progress in development of private servers.
We’ve got some stuff done so far, but there is still much to do. All of the Veterans in this section together have an absolutely immense knowledge of RuneScape hacking, and I was wondering if we’d all be willing to just write down what we know into this sort-of reference manual to-be. Perhaps even some of you could do some research and pioneering in certain areas in order to contribute to the wiki.

Once the wiki becomes relatively large, it will be announced among many communities as a huge knowledge base for RuneScape Private Servers.
I ask that you post on this thread (so Graham can see) if you wish to take part in this (hopefully) historic project.

It can be used for other things, just no one wants to take the time to actually work on it.

If you guys actually finish this, it’d be great. Please don’t make it another project you start and don’t finish. :frowning:

yeh get server & client packet structures up there, for more common ones (518, 317)

I installed a wiki too because people said they wanted to document things like you talked about, then nothing happened with it. I wish you better luck. :slight_smile:

We’ve been doing some more work (we aren’t dead :P). 53 articles in total now, samuraiblood2 has been doing a lot of editing of the packet structures. We also got a domain name: http://runewiki.org/. Old links will still work and will redirect to the new address.

Unfortunately due to vandalism by bots you now need to create an account to get a wiki.

Any chance that you have the articles saved somewhere and can use a free host until you get this fixed?

You should use https://www.editdns.net/ for your DNS servers, they are great. (if that is your only problem, or one of them)

Surely you have backups of the wiki database? Why not ask MITB to host it?

I could give you guys an account on my server to set up and host your wiki with. Or if you aren’t familiar enough with the Linux command line via ssh I could set it up for you.

PM me the details when you can get everything set up.

I have a backup of the database, just not the images (as of right now at least).
