Community input: What do you think about a new forum theme?

We’ve had a fair amount of topics over the years discussing the prospects of putting another skin on the forum, now I’m making this topic to seal the deal so we can understand what the community is interested in. Any themes that are suggested and discussed here would be optional themes (we are not open to changing the default theme) and shouldn’t be anything stupid (like a pink pony theme, these posts will just be constituted as spam).

Please post your thoughts on whether we should have more themes, what those themes should be (link them etc), and show your support for other themes. This topic isn’t to voice how you’re an oracle and this isn’t going to happen, any posts that void the concise point of the topic will again constitute as spam.

Dark themes are very depressing, why do people like them so much? Either way I guess it wont really matter considering they’re going to be optional. I say throw a light and dark theme on the table to keep the beggars from begging.

It’d certainly freshen it up. The internet has come a long way since 2006, so I’m sure there are more modern themes out there.
Consider choosing a responsive theme. I’ve only ever browsed the forums on my phone a few times but I found the theme a bit blurgh.

Are you willing to spend money in order to get themes? I’m aware that there are plenty of free ones available, but it’s just for future reference.

Dark themes are depressing, we should at least try to keep it a light theme.

Okay and that’s your opinion, just because you think they’re depressing doesn’t mean no one else thinks otherwise. Also like I said before we have 2 (or 3 I think) light themes already so I don’t think adding at least an option to have a dark theme would hurt.
