Piranha Plant

edit: for the sake of fucking around, I kicked up the hair length from 40 to 300

That’s great  I see your still using your wood table :stuck_out_tongue:

That looks amazing! lol
I can’t get 3d modelling down like for fuck
I use lightwave for modelling
what do you use for modelling?
Cinema 4d? blender? idk

C4D.

Good, but not very realistic.

Is it just me, or can you recognize blender renderings by a certain characteristic reflection on the surface?

Haha, nice job - it looks good. How long did it take?

If you were using R11 I could show you alot about rendering by editing your project file

im considering getting r11 because you’ve told me this a bit

also updated picture, toned down the bump material on the head

I like it, but the plant itself doesn’t match the pipe that it’s in, in my opinion.

in what way?

It looks like the plant is more of a cartoon, and the pipe is more realistic, so they don’t match.

I’m trying to find a more organic look for the head but I’ve haven’t had good results so far.

The most awkward part of it is actually that he doesn’t have enough teeth, or at least they don’t spread throughout the mouth. It would look awkward for someone to have their mouth open if they only had the front four top & bottom…

You caught me at a good time because I almost finished up for tonight. I added more teeth and, as I couldn’t capture an organic look with normal maps or bump maps, I decided to add a hair object, creating a fuzzy look for the head. Unfortunately I had to remove the Depth of Field for the hair to not mess up and appear to glow, but otherwise nothing was really sacrificed for this look. I’ve updated the OP with the new image.

Much, much better. C:

I don’t know how I keep missing replies

I wish this were blender. I did this in Cinema 4D, and yes, the original one did lack a lot of realism. I hope to have cleared some of that out in the most recent render posted. One of my goals is to work on the teeth/lips texture.

Modeling it was about 3 hours for the first one, with the newest parts being an additional 20 minutes or so.

Thanks. I tried rendering a 4 second 360 degree rotation of it, but my power went out (for the 5th time today) about 82 frames in, and each frame took about 1-2 minutes, so I’m not trying that again.

Are these from Mario?

OT: Looks awesome.

yep

looks nice

I like them alot. Accept for the fact that the stem is shiny, stem’s aren’t really that glossy.
