Are 4850’s comparable to a GTS250? Because I have about 130 dollars to buy a video card and I want to do hybrid crossfire with the onborad graphics (HD4200) so I need to get an ATI card.

Fail troll.
Eh? How did I attempt to troll?
How is it not good? General consensus is it dominates, but the price is kinda holyfuckingdamn.

i ran 2x ati radeon 4850’s (crossfire) on 400w.[/quote]i meant most nvidia cards, for example, both the geforce 9800 and the gts 250 have a 450w psu requirement, and if you read related reviews, you’ll see that not even 450w is enough:
Requires more power than my 8600gt did. Actually blew my 500 watt power supply out within two days of install. Not good. Box says 450 watt is required. I say make that 550 to be on the safe side. Go much higher (650+ watt) if you intend to SLI. This card is a beast. Not just in terms of power, but also sheer size. As has been said numerous times before - make sure this is gonna fit in your case. I have a really large case and still had to maneuver some stuff around to get it to fit. I have absolutely no idea how I'd SLI two of these monsters. I just don't know where the room would be for it, even in a big case. Runs slightly louder than my 8600gt, I can actually hear this one working, which isn't the biggest deal in the world, since my gaming audio is usually cranked up as well.

That maximum watt output is not as important as the voltage output.
Just bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231180
The 1800 DDR3 Kingston isn’t running at the right speed so this should fix that plus more memory. I choose 1333mhz because thats what it is verified at without overclocking.
Can you guys post the cost of the build too?
Going off prices i originally bought it all for mine cost around £1650.
Going off the prices the hardware is at now it cost around £1750. Some hardware went down in price, but the two XFX 5850’s which i bought at launch for £200 each are now selling for £250 each.
Mine was just over $1500
Iirc I paid £600-700 or so for mine.
