I like it, The eye seems not right, IDK if that’s how it really looks but it looks pixelated
its the bump map. i tried to tone it down as best I could while still making it noticeable.
What’s a wheatley.
Looks good regardless, although I agree the eye looks a bit odd.
It looks like it was made out of gym equipment. But its good, looks far better than anything I could ever make.

I agree with eyeonyew it is alot better.
Looks nice, I think it could do with flatter sides (as Wheatley has). At the moment it looks more like a personality core from Portal 1 but with a blue eye. But overall a brilliant job Cole.

The modeling is the easiest. You can easily identify the primitives used and what was done with them.
I started with a few spheres roated 90 degrees, did some extruding on them after deleting a few segments, made the lense looking thing out of another sphere, the “eye” is also a sphere. The joints on the sides of the body are a few extruded cylinders, the joints are slightly shaped spheres, the “bones” are extruded cylinders, and the gun is just a bunch more extruding.

Just out of curiosity, how many polys does it have when you go to render it?
65k, with tons of unnecessary loop cuts.
As someone who is a topology nut, this makes me sad although I’m sure it would be an easy fix if you planned to.
Looks decent over all, but I must say that the arms look off. I just don’t “Feel” them, if you catch my drift. I personally would look into re-conceptializing the robot. The legs are better, but I feel you could have done more with them too. I understand it is a robot, but I just cant see the arms and legs being, well, arms and legs. He doesn’t seem “balanced,” his center of gravity feels top heavy, in which case I would assume he has HUGE feet. If you scale the bottom of the legs out so that it tapers, it should feel more sturdy, a good reference to that would be mega mans legs.
Also, I am being pretty picky, but thats only because I’m speaking from one modeler to another, not to someone in the midst of learning the basics. Loving the body by the way.
