I’m thinking of rooting it, but what really are the benefits of rooting it? I know that all I ever used the jailbreak on my ipod for was to get free apps, and change the look, but I can do that on my droid without rooting it…

DroidWall is good, also Wifi Tethering. Also, custom roms like CyanogenMod and similar have a lot of cool extra features no stock roms have.

Just install a custom ROM that’s pre-rooted and you don’t need to worry about it. At the same time you get a massive amount of features available to you through applications that will now use the superuser access.

The antennae has caused me too many problems for comfort, i ordered my bumper in July from Apple, i just received it tonight.

I decided to buy a rubber case for my IPhone, no more reception problems whatsoever.

The fanboys of most products are usually of a small percentage. Everyone was offered a complete, full refund, valid for 30 days after you buy it - so they had the choice of reversing that decision and didn’t have to admit to anything. But no, people didn’t take it back - because it wasn’t anywhere near the problem it was made out to be.

But that doesn’t explain why people who don’t own the phone, nor would ever likely to own the phone, would complain about it so much? Sounds like someone needs to apply the fanboy label to both sides.

It’s good fun because you always end up finding fanboys who claim has no flaws at all and that god blessed their children if they got one. It’s kinda like poking fun at holocaust deniers!
